Pasteur Institute electron microscopist and one of the co-authors of the 1983 Montagnier paper.
Dauguet stated that examination of density gradient material was performed because this procedure
concentrates retrovirus particles. However, over a period of 15 days he could not find any retrovirallike particles in the density gradient « purified virus ». He only found cellular debris. Asked if he also
examined controls Dauguet replied “The samples on which I worked were from infected cultures"
