En janvier 2013, le quotidien britannique Daily Mail publie un article de la journaliste Louise Boyle qui évoque le sujet du projet américain portant sur l’organisation d’une attaque chimique en Syrie ayant pour objectif de « faire accuser le gouvernement de Bachar al-Assad ».

Cependant sur fond d’escalade du conflit actuel, l’article a été retiré du site, mais il n’est pas disparu, ni perdu, il a été repris par dailywestern :
